This is an old window shutter that we found in the shed. It makes a wonderful letter holder for the hallway, so that when H comes home the letters (bills) are waiting for him. Otherwise they would get lost in the abyss that is our house. We put a backing on it and hung it crudely with copper wire.
I do have a habit of shoving other things in there too (like The Spice Girls CD cover face up so Haidee can't see). I must clean it up a bit.
Anywho, I just thought I'd share it with you all. Where do you keep your letters?

What a gorgeous idea!! We need something like that. Our letters sit on the kitchen bench for a few days and then get filed badly (if they are lucky).
That is the most fantastic idea, I love it! It has given me some inspiration to do something similar in our kitchen. Because as it stands letters either get lost in the abyss you refer to OR get thrown in a pile on the kitchen bench OR end up in an old envelope box which is no way suitable for letters and bills :o/

This is lovely Alisa - it's got such character and is a fantastic colour. Our mail ends up on top of a shelf out the back = messy :)
